The filmmakers of Beacon Films (formerly Beacon Hill Arts) are returning for a
jam-packed evening of entertainment… and it’s going to be a ball!
We hope you can join us for an evening of outstanding films and performances by multi-award winning filmmakers with learning disabilities, autism and additional needs.
This year, we will be presenting our very first ever musical, “Car-e-Oke” about a garage mechanic’s seemingly hopeless pipedream to become a famous singer. In addition to some examples of our commissioned work, we will also be premiering three films made through a mixture of animation and live action that tell the true story of Grace Darling: the young woman who braved a storm to rescue passengers from a stricken ship. This will include - of course - a live performance of the films’ score!
Beacon Films is a team of filmmakers and musicians with disabilities and autism. We are one of the official BFI Film Academy partners. Our work has received over 100 international festival screenings around the world and has been described as “very funny” by Mark Kermode, “unique” by Lauren Laverne and “imaginative and beautiful” by Mark Ratcliffe of BBC Radio 6 Music.
Have the boundaries of your imagination pushed to the limit by our award-winning work!
The performance is fully accessible. Please indicate whilst booking whether you - or someone in your party - requires a wheelchair accessible space or BSL interpretation.
