What is a Relaxed Screening?

  • For most of our Beacon Films Relaxed Screenings the sound and lighting will be “sensory-friendly” Please check details on each film or event listing. This means that the:

  • Lighting is left on low

  • Sound is kept down a bit

    There is also:

  • There is a chill-out space available if you need to take a break

  • You are able to make a bit of noise or movement if you need to.

  • The screening will not be full of people - there will be plenty of space in the cinema.

  • There will be friendly volunteers on hand to help with anything you might need.

  • Due to sensory sensitivities of some of our guests, we do not recommend the screenings for children; particularly those under the age of 2 years old.

  • The films will also be screened with captioned subtitles

Covid Information

  1. We will remind everyone entering the cinema that they should not come in if they do not feel well.

  2. The screenings will not be socially distanced. The screening will be capped so there will be some space in the cinema.

  3. Hand sanitiser is available around the building which customers are encouraged to use.

  4. We encourage volunteers and customers to wear a face covering if they would like to help keep themselves and others safe, though we respect that some people struggle with these.

  5. We will have some disposable face masks available at the Beacon Films Relaxed Screenings at Customs House for anyone who would like to use one.
